Expert intellectual property valuation

Intellectual property valuation
is required for:

Registration of copyrights, purchase and sale of intellectual property, licensing agreements, and balance sheet registration of assets.

Attracting investors, determining market value, insurance, and accounting purposes.

Legal disputes, taxation, contribution to authorized capital, and business sale.

WHEN VALUING INTANGIBLE ASSETS, THE FOLLOWING OBJECTIVES ARE ACHIEVED:

  • the market value of the enterprise increases;
  • the amount of depreciation deductions increases, creating funds for acquiring new intangible assets while the money remains within the company;
  • the company’s profit tax is reduced;
  • the value of intangible assets is determined during purchase and sale transactions, etc.

Expert valuation of intellectual property objects and intangible assets.

“ALLIANCE-UKREXPERT” also provides valuation services for intellectual property objects, property and corporate rights, and intangible assets.

In accordance with National Standard No. 4, property rights to the following intellectual property objects are subject to valuation:

  • literary and artistic works;
  • computer programs;
  • databases;
  • works;
  • phonograms, videograms, broadcasts (programs) of broadcasting organizations;
  • inventions, utility models, industrial designs;
  • layouts (topographies) of integrated circuits;
  • rationalization proposals;
  • plant varieties and animal breeds;
  • commercial (trade) names, trademarks (marks for goods and services), geographical indications;
  • other objects classified as intellectual property rights under current legislation.

“ALLIANCE-UKREXPERT” performs valuations for taxation purposes and payment of other mandatory fees, which are subsequently required for submission to a notary during property transfer transactions (purchase and sale, gifting, inheritance, etc.) in accordance with Article 172 of the Tax Code of Ukraine.

A specific feature of independent valuation of intangible assets (intellectual property rights) is the almost complete absence of a comparable market for such property, which makes the comparative approach difficult to apply.

The most common intangible assets subject to valuation include:

  • trademark (brand);
  • computer software and databases;
  • patents;
  • licenses;
  • inventions;
  • utility models;
  • industrial designs;
  • trade secrets (know-how);
  • business reputation (goodwill);
  • other intangible assets.
